Parking Mandates are a barrier to affordable housing, good public transportation, walkability and a thriving economy. All while being detrimental to the environment and public health. Sunrise Orlando believes that parking minimums should be eliminated, and by doing so we put people over parking, putting our community in a better position to combat the many crises we’re facing. We believe eliminating parking minimums is a transformative yet simple step that local Central Florida governments can take in the face of other solutions being made illegal by Tallahassee and Washington.

Eliminating parking minimums won’t stop people from building parking, but allow Orlandoans to choose how they’d like to get around, driving, walking, biking, taking the bus, or taking the train. In order to fight the climate crisis, parking minimums must go.
